HUD Makes Changes to Home Improvement Loan Program

The Department of Housing and Urban Development has moved to shore up consumer protections in its Title I home improvement program. Aiming to stamp out alleged abuses in the dealer portion of the program, the agency earlier this month issued a final rule that makes a number of changes to the way that loan proceeds are distributed.
